One of the goals of the JET Programme is to help build bridges between the hosting country and participating countries.

In November of 2016, the JET Programme celebrated 30 years in Japan and recognized the participation of thousands of JETs from more than 70 countries.

In addition to teaching in local Elementary, Jr. and Sr. High Schools across the country, JETs have worked to build relationships within their communities through participation in local festivals, events, businesses, projects and cultural experiences.

The exchange of culture and traditions, ideas, language and world perspectives is highly valued and strongly encouraged within the JET community.

Please consider how you can make the most of your time in Japan and see what interest groups, volunteer projects and local activities you can get involved in.
